River Halahin at dawn
Kartong is on the southerly border of the Gambia adjacent to the Casamance region of Senegal, within easy reach of Banjul International Airport. It is one of the oldest and most unspoilt coastal villages of the Gambia and is within walking distance of soft sandy Atlantic beaches.
Kartong Festival
The main programme takes place in the grounds of St Martins School right in the centre of the village. The festival includes performances and discos in local lodges within easy reach of Kartong as well as events and workshops which take place throughout the weekend in the village itself.
